Bishop Cedrick Bridgeforth has called a Special Session of The Alaska Conference of The United Methodist Church “to reconsider our decision to ask the General Conference to release us from Missionary Conference status in order to become a mission district of the PNW Conference.” This is after “unanimous request from the Leadership Team, the Mission District Task Force, and the AUMC Delegation to General Conference.”

While we do have Bishop Cedrick’s call letter and four support articles from Alaska Conference Leadership, there may still be questions about why the AUMC is reconsidering our previous request to become a Mission District of the Pacific Northwest Conference of The UMC.
We will have a Zoom meeting on Saturday, December 2nd at 4 PM to have some discussion about this in advance of the December 5 Special Session.
