GENERAL INFORMATION

Who may attend and participate in Annual Conference?

The Alaska Annual Conference Session will be June 27-30 at St. John United Methodist Church in Anchorage, Alaska. We will gather on Thursday afternoon with the Clergy and Lay Sessions, dinner, Opening Worship and Opening Plenary. Friday will open with a devotion and then continue with the Plenary. There will be a lunch and then the School of Theology will begin. We will share in a dinner and then conclude the evening with the Memorial Service. Saturday morning will continue with the School of Theology and the Anchorage Pride Parade. The Plenary and Worship will be prior to dinner. The evening will finish with a Plenary. Sunday you have the choice of Anchorage churches to worship at and have lunch on your own. The closing plenary will begin in the afternoon and will end with the Commissioning Service and reading of appointments.

Thursday, June 27
12 pm: Registration
3 pm: Lay and Clergy Sessions
5 pm: Dinner
6:30 pm: Opening Worship
7:30 pm: Opening Plenary

Friday, June 28
9 am: Worship with Youth Address
9:30 am: Plenary
11:30 am: Lunch
1 pm: School of Theology
5 pm: Dinner
6:30 pm: Memorial Service

Saturday, June 29
9:30 – 3:00: School of Theology OR Anchorage Pride Parade
School of Theology participants will have lunch at St. John UMC
Anchorage Pride participants will be responsible for purchasing or bringing lunch (receipts can be submitted for reimbursement)
3:30 pm: Plenary
5 pm: Dinner
6:30 pm: Plenary

Sunday, June 30
9 – 1:30: Worship with local churches, lunch on own
1:30 pm: Plenary
4 pm: Commissioning Service

REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Registration is almost open for our 2024 Annual Conference. It costs $10 for those wishing to attend online and there is a sliding fee scale ($0, $25, $75, $100) again for those wishing to participate in person. All clergy and lay members of the Annual Conference, regardless of whether you attend in person or online, must register to be able to participate. The registration deadline is Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

LODGING INFORMATION
Hotel Blocks for booking – Each hotel has its room limitations, so please book early. Rooms will be released by May 14.
